In Chile many of our wineries take particular pleasure in marrying our ancestral cultures with their product. Almaviva is one such vineyard which produces a Grand Cru. Grand Cru means one unique vineyard, one technical staff that produces one unique product. We invite you to discover this elaborate process that produces Almaviva, a wine of superior quality. Every year the challenge for Michel Frioux, the wine maker, is to maintain the high quality and to get the wine ready on time. Visiting this winery will be an education in how our ancestral cultures and our viticulture are interwoven. Yes, you will learn about the wine and in the process obtain an added value as you get an insight into Mapuche culture. Afterwards, you will visit the Santa Rita winery, where besides tasting its wines; doing a trip through Chilean history and its viticulture; you will also visit Andino museum, located in this winery, where there is a comprehensive exhibit about Chile’s first inhabitants.
